Why go

For the dinner where the occasion matters as much as the steak, The Cullinan sits on the first floor of Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, the resort facing the Burj Al Arab, with a terrace whose view takes in the sail-shaped hotel, the Gulf and the city skyline. FoodFund International, the family group behind The Meat Co, opened it in spring 2025 and built it around a meat sommelier who helps you choose among 25 steaks, with a wine sommelier for the pairing. The menu reads like a list of producers rather than cuts, which makes it easy for a table to taste across countries: Japanese A5, Australian full-blood wagyu, long-fed Angus and two grass-fed fillets from New Zealand and Tasmania.

01What to order

02The beef

The 2026 menu lists nine producers. From Australia: Blackmore and Stone Axe full-blood wagyu (MS 9+), Mayura Station full-blood wagyu (MS 10+), Westholme wagyu at MS 4–5 and 6–7, Black Market Black Angus fed 300 days and Stockyard beef fed 250 days. From Japan: Saroma A5 at MS 11. Grass-fed: Silver Fern Farms fillet from New Zealand, certified Net Carbon Zero, and Bass Strait fillet from Tasmania, free of antibiotics and hormones and hung by the "Natural State Hanging Method." Steaks run from AED 340 for a 250 g / 9 oz Silver Fern fillet to AED 1,950 for the Stone Axe tomahawk.

03The fire

The menu mentions a Josper charcoal oven for the lamb loin and the baby gem, but does not say how the steaks are cooked. No source names the fuel or the grill used for the beef.

04The story

FACT announced in February 2025 that The Cullinan would open in March at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, named after the Cullinan diamond found in South Africa in 1905 and designed by Tristan du Plessis; Emirates Woman reported it open on March 20, 2025. FoodFund International traces its roots to 1976 and also runs Clay, Ristorante Loren and SĀN Beach Club. The World Culinary Awards named it the winner of their Dubai restaurant category for 2026.
