Why go

Wood fire. Brasserie plates. RARE cooks its steaks over a wood fire, and the house says so on every page: the menu, the business lunch, the Monday steak night. It opened in March 2024 in City Walk's licensed C2 district as a steakhouse of 130 seats, and now calls itself a modern French brasserie with live music. The steak list is short. Four single cuts. Three big ones to share. The large cuts are where the grill earns its keep: a porterhouse, a côte de boeuf aged 30 days, a whole Chateaubriand. Time Out Dubai put it in its 2026 steakhouse guide.

01What to order

02The beef

The menu gives weights, not origins. Flat iron 300 g / 11 oz, entrecôte 400 g / 14 oz, filet au poivre 200 g / 7 oz (AED 268), wagyu striploin 300 g / 11 oz at marble score 6+. The côte de boeuf is the only cut with an aging figure: 30 days dry. Breed, country and feeding are not on the card. Beyond steak: wagyu tartare (AED 118), bone marrow on toast, braised ox cheek and a 400 g / 14 oz short rib (AED 315). The number: 30 days.

03The fire

The house describes wood-fire cooking. At the 2024 opening, FACT wrote that the steaks were cooked on charcoal. The 2026 menu also lists a charcoal cabbage. Both fuels may be in the kitchen; no source describes the grill itself.

04The story

RARE opened on March 15, 2024, in the C2 district of City Walk. Its founder, Sahil Anand, had opened CMP Bar & Grill at The Pointe first; FACT named Jesse Blake and Ryan Bernardo as the opening chefs, and the house website now lists Ryan Benardo as head chef. Time Out's April 2026 guide still listed a 1 kg / 2.2 lb porterhouse and an oyster blade; the April 2026 menu has a 1.2 kg / 2.6 lb porterhouse and a flat iron instead.
