Why go
For the dinner with a big group that cannot agree on a single dish, the churrascaria format settles it: nobody orders a steak, the meat comes to the table on skewers, and each guest decides when to stop with a card that is green on one side and red on the other. Fogo de Chão, founded in Porto Alegre in 1979, opened this house in DIFC in February 2018 as its 51st restaurant and its second in the Middle East, after Jeddah. The chain calls it its Middle East flagship: a grand dining room, an open kitchen with Brazilian-trained gaucho chefs, a bar and lounge, and a terrace with a shisha lounge facing the Burj Khalifa.

04The story
Fogo de Chão was founded in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 1979. Its first Middle East restaurant opened in Jeddah in August 2017; Dubai followed in February 2018, run as a joint venture with the Enany Group of Companies, per Images RetailME. At opening it was not yet licensed for alcohol, though What's On expected a license soon; the plan included a wine list chosen by the house sommeliers. What's On still included it in its May 2026 guide to the city's steakhouses.
05The practical
