In 1976 Rowley's opened on Jermyn Street in London, and for nearly fifty years it did not open abroad; the Dubai branch, opened in DIFC in 2025, was its first outside the United Kingdom. The format is the one the house calls its original: one plate of steak with a house salad, unlimited fries and a sauce, and very little else. That simplicity is the reason to go; you choose the cut and the sauce, and Time Out called the result fast and fun. Rowley's was voted Favourite Casual Steakhouse at the What's On Dubai Awards 2026, and it was among the steakhouses in the running at the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards 2026.

02The beef
Both menu steaks are Australian Angus: striploin for the Classic and ribeye for the Signature, with a cut of the day alongside. The menu gives no weights; at opening the single plate was priced at AED 138, and Time Out's April 2026 guide described a 200 g / 7 oz steak at that price. Before opening, Tom Muir told Khaleej Times, the owners tasted between 60 and 100 steaks to choose the beef; Time Out wrote of a six-month search. No source gives the grade, the feeding or any aging.

04The story
The house traces its building further back than the restaurant: Rowley's says its Jermyn Street address is where the Walls meat business began, with Richard Wall apprenticed in 1790 and holding Royal Appointments from 1812 to 1901, from George IV to Edward VII. Rowley's itself opened there in 1976. In Dubai it is part of The Slice, the DIFC rooftop that opened on Feb. 14, 2025, with Tapline and The Ledge, created by Tom Muir, Grupo Anderson's and the operator Daniel Petermann; Khaleej Times reported the restaurant open to the public in March 2025. In Khaleej Times, Muir placed the London original in Mayfair; Jermyn Street is in St James's, and Steakpedia uses the street address the house gives. The brand now lists Riyadh (KAFD) and Yas Bay in Abu Dhabi as well.
05The practical

Parking inside Central Park Towers: first hour free, then AED 15 an hour; valet AED 30 an hour. Weekly offers: Power Lunch, Monday to Friday 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., steak with salad and fries for AED 80; Monday Special, two steaks, two salads, fries and a bottle of house wine for AED 290; from midnight to 2 a.m., 50% off steak, salad and fries. Prices include 5% VAT and carry a 7% municipality fee. In April 2026 Time Out noted that no reservation is needed: you can simply walk in.
