Why go

For the evening when the table wants a steak at a modest price rather than a hotel dining room, El Bodegón is the Argentine address on Xingfu Road in Changning. Time Out Shanghai introduced one branch of the family-run restaurant in December 2018 as its second location, a rustic, casual steakhouse built around grilled steaks and Peruvian appetizers such as ceviche, and a good place to watch live football. In March 2025 Nomfluence described the restaurant as open for more than a decade and known for steaks that offer good value. The Xingfu Road house is Unit 102 at No. 110; the other listing is on Changshu Road, in Jing'an.

04The story

Time Out Shanghai (December 2018) presented the Panyu Road branch, at 326 Panyu Road near Fahuazhen Road, as the second location of the family-run El Bodegón, in soft opening, with lunch and brunch to start after the new year. Nomfluence (March 2025) says the restaurant has been in Shanghai for more than a decade, and lists two houses: Changshu Road and Xingfu Road. A Ctrip page titled for the Panyu Road branch carries the Xingfu Road address and the same phone number Time Out gave for Panyu Road in 2018, but no source says whether that branch moved. No opening year was found.
