Why go
Charcoal under every steak. Kingsleys sits on the Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf, and its menu says plainly that all steaks are cooked over a charcoal grill. The list is built on Australian producers: Riverine, Pasturelands, 2GR, Rangers Valley, Stone Axe, Little Joe. The sea is the other half: oysters, a seafood platter, Southern Rock lobster. Add half a lobster or tiger prawns to any steak and it becomes surf and turf. The World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants placed Kingsleys No. 30 on its Australian list in 2026.

02The beef
Grain dominates. The Riverine Black Angus ribeye and sirloin (300 g / 11 oz each) and both big cuts are 120 days on grain at MB2+; the Pasturelands eye fillet is pasture-fed, also 120 days, from southern NSW. Wagyu comes from three names: a 2GR bavette at 270 days and MB9+, a Rangers Valley Rostbiff rump graded WX7, and a Stone Axe striploin at MB9+ (300 g / 11 oz, A$225). Only the T-bone is marked dry-aged: six weeks. The menu also lists a dry-aged wagyu tartare at MB5+. In March 2011 the same house was serving Oakleigh Ranch wagyu ribeye and a dry-aged Riverine rib on the bone.
03The fire
The current menu says charcoal grill. In 2018, in sponsored content published by Time Out, Kingsleys announced a new Josper charcoal oven for a Wednesday feasting menu; the 2026 menu does not name the equipment. Each steak comes with onion jam, snow pea leaves and smoked salt. Ask for the T-bone.
04The story
The Finger Wharf was built between 1910 and 1915, about 400 meters long, and redeveloped in 1998, per Kingsleys' own history page; today it holds a marina, apartments, a hotel and restaurants. Steakpedia found no opening year for Kingsleys. The earliest source is a blog post dated March 22, 2011, describing Kingsleys Steak and Crab House at the same address, with prices from A$56.90 for a 400 g / 14 oz wagyu ribeye. In 2018 the room had 250 seats. DMARGE named Jason Roberson and Leonardo Rachid Militão as chefs in 2023. The house now trades as Kingsleys Woolloomooloo.
