Why go01
For the evening when you want a long, guided meal of Wagyu, Yazawa in Hanoi serves only A5 Japanese Black, which the house says arrives from Japan fresh and chilled rather than frozen. It is the Hanoi branch of Yazawa Meat, a Japanese company founded in 2007 that runs yakiniku houses at home and abroad. You can let the kitchen lead with an omakase, from 1,980,000 ₫ a person for two or more, or order individual cuts by their Japanese names, from zabuton to misuji, and share them across the table. A sommelier pairs more than 70 wines and sakes, per Epicure Vietnam (2026).

03The beef
One breed and one grade. Yazawa says it serves only Japanese Black at A5, which it calls the highest grade in Japanese beef ranking, chosen by its own craftsmen. The beef is imported fresh and chilled from Japan, per the house, rather than frozen. The menu reads like a map of the animal in Japanese butchery terms: zabuton and misuji from the shoulder, ichibo and rump from the hip, kainomi, sankaku, tougarashi, maki-rosu and the rib cap. The thin-sliced cuts run from 750,000 ₫ (nakaniku, uchimomo) to 1,050,000 ₫. No source mentions ageing.
04The fire
Yakiniku is the format: the beef is grilled, and the house says little more. Neither its own pages nor Epicure Vietnam nor Vietcetera name the fuel, so this page does not either. Two dishes are sold by the slice, the Yazawa-yaki of sirloin and a roasted ichibo, at 580,000 ₫ each. The steak cuts, from a diced saikoro steak at 1,200,000 ₫ to the chateaubriand, sit apart from the thin slices.
05The story
Yazawa Meat was founded in 2007, per coki (October 2024), and runs yakiniku and sukiyaki brands, with 17 restaurants in Japan and more than seven abroad; it went to Singapore in 2008 and also has houses in Milan and Beverly Hills. In Vietnam it opened first in Saigon. Vietcetera listed the Hanoi branch among the city's yakiniku houses in October 2023, and in January 2024 called it the newest addition to Hanoi's dining scene, with Yuta Koumi as general manager. Epicure Vietnam (February 2026) reports a "Best Japanese Restaurant – Highly Recommended" title in the Gourmet Vietnam Awards 2025.
