01What to order

• Parrilla Malevo Deluxe, for two£87.60 on the November 2025 menu: a 283 g / 10 oz ribeye, a 283 g / 10 oz sirloin, sausage, black pudding and sweetbread.
• Ribeye Twister, for two£68.90 for a 481 g / 17 oz ribeye marinated in garlic and parsley.
• Bife de chorizo, 283 g / 10 oz£38.60, the sirloin; the menu says every cut can be ordered larger, cut to order.
• Bife ancho, 283 g / 10 oz£39.70, the ribeye.
• Empanadas£4.30 each or three for £12, hand-shaped and oven-baked; fillings include beef with onion and egg.
• Provolone with honey and almonds£12, to share before the steaks.

02The beef

The menu lists four steaks by their Argentine names: bife de cuadril (rump, 283 g / 10 oz, £27.30), bife de chorizo (sirloin, 283 g / 10 oz, £38.60), bife ancho (ribeye, 283 g / 10 oz, £39.70) and lomo (fillet, 226 g / 8 oz, £39.80), plus a chateaubriand priced by weight each day. Every cut is available in bigger sizes, cut to order. The menu calls the beef in its burger premium Argentine beef but does not state the origin, breed or aging of the steaks.

03The fire

The menu groups its sharing dishes as mixed grills and serves them with chimichurri, Malevo chilli, peppercorn, béarnaise or garlic and bone-marrow butter (£2.80 each). Time Out wrote in 2013 that the cooks worked as grill masters; no source names the grill or the fuel.

04The story

The Caterer announced the opening as a new venture by chef Diego Jacquet and restaurateur Alberto Abbate, close to Hyde Park. By October 2012, when Restaurant Online reported that "the duo behind Casa Malevo" would open Zoilo in Marylebone, Casa Malevo was already trading. In 2014 the same team opened Abasto in Connaught Village, which Harden's described as London's first Argentine butcher and wine merchant. Time Out's 2013 review found a small, homely room with bare brick, an old dresser, photographs of steaks and a gaucho's spur, and a conservatory at the back overlooking gardens.

05The practical
