Why go01
Gom Ba Wie is listed for a specialism: the stomach and intestine of Hanwoo, cleaned by hand and grilled over chamsut. The MICHELIN Guide Seoul recommends it, in its barbecue category, at the ₩₩ level and as good for groups, in a review dated 5 March 2026; in 2021 the guide gave it a Plate and singled out its baekyang, first stomach, grilled thick rather than dressed in a sweet and spicy sauce. Esquire Korea (2021) counted it among Seoul's best-regarded houses for yang and daechang since 1983, with a clientele that mixes temple-goers, office workers and visitors to COEX.

Beyond offal, the house serves Hanwoo cuts — kkot-deungsim, galbi, chadolbagi and others. The sources give no grade or marbling number for the beef.

05The story
Gom Ba Wie opened in 1983 as a small restaurant near Bongeunsa. The house's own page tells how it began: in a thatched-roof house, a choga-jip, at the foot of a slope with a large pine beside the temple, below a rock shaped like a bear; hence the name, gom, bear, and bawi, rock. Today the original building stands with a newer three-storey annex, the singwan, behind it; MICHELIN writes that together they show the house's past and present, and Esquire noted in 2021 that the building, then almost 40 years old, had a renovated interior.
