Why go
Duhau Restaurante & Vinoteca is the restaurant of the Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt on Avenida Alvear, with a garden terrace and a cheese cellar. The hotel describes Argentine cooking built on local produce and on the embers, served as a seasonal family-style menu meant for the whole table to share. The Michelin Guide, which gave it a Plate in 2024 and 2025, says most of what comes from the kitchen goes over the parrilla. Michelin also notes a business crowd at lunch and a calmer room at night.
What to order
- Grilled rib chops
- Slow-grilled lamb shoulder
- Smoked potato purée

01What to order
- Grilled rib chopsOne of the shared plates Michelin names; costillas a la parrilla are also the cut on Steakpedia's city listing.
- Slow-grilled lamb shoulderPaleta de cordero, a plate for the table, per Michelin.
- Smoked potato puréeThe side Michelin recommends by name.
- A Wagyu or Angus cutThe hotel lists Wagyu, Black Angus and Aberdeen Angus among its premium cuts; a Miami Living profile names a dry-aged Black Angus New York strip, rib-eye and tenderloin.
- Atlantic fishFor anyone at the table who wants a break from beef, per Michelin.
- Cheese and wine tastingTuesday to Saturday at 5, 5:30, 6 and 6:30 pm, subject to availability, drawn from the house cheese cellar.
02The beef
The hotel names three kinds of beef, Wagyu, Black Angus and Aberdeen Angus, but not where they are raised. Miami Living mentions a dry-aged Black Angus strip without the number of days. The menus change every two weeks, the hotel says, so the cuts on the night may differ from these.
03The fire
The hotel calls the kitchen a specialist in cooking over embers, and Michelin says most of the Argentine produce is cooked on the parrilla. La Nación, reviewing the restaurant in 2010, described a wood-fired parrilla, and Miami Living writes of wood-grilled meats; the hotel's own page today does not name the fuel.
04The story
La Nación's 2010 review placed the restaurant in the palace with about 60 covers, private rooms and a terrace, a cheese room run by a maître fromagère and some 700 wine labels under sommelier Marcelo Rebollé; the chef then was Federico Heizmann. A later Miami Living profile names chef Franco Rossi. Today the hotel presents it as one of the 57 Michelin-recognized restaurants in Argentina.
05The practical
Avenida Alvear 1661, Recoleta, inside the Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt. Open every day: lunch 12:30 to 3:30 pm, dinner 7:30 to 11:30 pm. Michelin notes wine shelves and a cheese room as you walk in, and arched doors opening onto a terrace with a view of the garden; its price band is the highest, four symbols.
