Why go01

CUT is Wolfgang Puck's first CUT in Asia, in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, and it has held one Michelin star in every Singapore edition since the first guide in 2016, the 2026 guide included; only about a dozen restaurants share that run. The menu is built so that a table can compare three kinds of beef in one evening: corn-fed USDA Prime, grass-fed Australian and Japanese wagyu graded A4 and A5. It was no. 59 in the World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants in 2025.

02What to order

  • StriploinUSDA Prime sirloinThe American anchor of the menu: S$32 per 100 g in 2024, or a 340 g New York sirloin at S$108.
  • Kagoshima wagyuJapanese wagyu that Honeycombers singles out in 2026; worth ordering beside a USDA cut so the table can compare.
  • Stone Axe full-blood wagyuAustralian full-blood wagyu, also named by Honeycombers in 2026.
  • Sides to shareMac and cheese, creamed spinach and tempura onion rings, priced separately, with yuzu kosho butter, horseradish cream or the house steak sauce.
  • Early Cuts menuThree courses with a Maryland blue crab cake and USDA Prime filet mignon, early in the evening; the price is not published.

03The beef

The beef list reads as three journeys you can take together at one table: USDA Prime, corn-fed; Australian beef, grass-fed; and Japanese wagyu at A4 and A5. Among the wagyu, Honeycombers names the Kagoshima from Japan and the Stone Axe full-blood from Australia.

04The fire

Bone-in cuts and the wagyu go onto a broiler fired with hardwood and charcoal, then finish under an infrared broiler at 1,200 °F, about 650 °C; Honeycombers specifies charcoal and apple wood.

05The story

CUT began in 2006 at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in Beverly Hills and is run by Wolfgang Puck Dining Group. The Singapore date is less settled than the stars: Wikipedia gives 2010, but its citation is about Spago, and the same encyclopedia says the grand opening of Marina Bay Sands on 17 February 2011 marked the opening of its seven celebrity-chef restaurants, CUT among them. The executive chef named on the Singapore page is Greg Bess.

06The practical

CUT serves dinner only, every day from 5 to 10 pm, with the last seating at 9:45 pm and drinks from 4 pm; Early Cuts runs 5 to 6:30 pm Sunday to Thursday and 5 to 6 pm on Friday and Saturday, not on public holidays. There is a dress code: a collared shirt or smart top, trousers or tailored shorts and closed shoes, with no flip-flops, singlets or gym wear. MissLobang puts the evening at around S$150 to S$250 a head, with starters from S$29 and mains from S$48. For a weekend, book one to two weeks ahead and ask for a window table: +65 6688 8517, Suite B1-71, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, 2 Bayfront Avenue.
